Meade,
LaRue, Washington, Russell, and Taylor counties all spent a week at Lake
Cumberland 4-H together the 25
th-28
th.
It was an amazing week, with amazing weather.
Meade
County has finally gone to camp!
Callie
and I spent our week teaching a science class to the campers. We learned about the Forces of Flight and got
to make and shoot off straw rockets. It
was a blast.
When
I wasn’t teaching a class, I spent time with my cabin of girls and took
pictures for my agent.
Being able to go
to the lake and cool off on the pontoon was a relief from the heat, especially
since our class was taught in the boys’ storm shelter.
All
of our campers had a great time, and it was nice getting to know some of our
4-Hers better. For many of our girls it
was there first time at camp, but they had a wonderful week and were sad when
they had to come home that Friday.
After
cleaning up and packing all camp supplies away when we got back, this past week
has been spent brainstorming on ideas for our annual Farm Bureau Breakfast at
our county fair.
Extension wants to do a
promotional video showcasing what Extension has done for the community.
Callie and I have been contacting people and
setting up video interviews and piecing together clips for an amazing video.
For
now, it’s all workshops and last minute preparation for our fair!
